From the March 1942 Field Artillery Magazine: “Most recent and widely publicized member of the family of army vehicles is the quarter-ton truck, or “Jeep,” developed to replace the motorcycle with side-car so popular in the German army. The “Jeep” resembles a little boy’s plaything yet is a wizard of efficiency; it will carry two men, a machine gun and a load of ammunition; it is maneuverable, can be carried in a 1½-ton truck and is economical of operation.”
There’s nothing finer for Santa to use on Christmas Eve to deliver toys to all the good little boys and girls.
