Since the war there have been great strides in automotive safety…try to remember that the WW2 jeep is not a modern day automobile…let alone a sports car.

The WW2 jeeps are now moving into the seventy year old vehicle category.  You can use them, but try not to use them up.  The advice the military doled on during the war is still pretty pertinent today.
joedopejeep3Just because you CAN doesn’t mean you should! Taking it easy in an old jeep is the best way to get there…both of you in one pieces.
One of the best ways to learn how to handle equipment right is through the use of the technical manuals applicable to your vehicle.  There are several manuals for the WW2 jeep but perhaps the best is the one from 1944…TM 9-803.  This manual can still be purchased today as part of a set of manuls in The Complete WW2 Military Jeep Manual.
You can still have a lot of fun with your old WW2 jeep…just don’t be a dope!  A Joe Dope, that is.
