My Jeep After Its Most Recent Refurb
![]() My jeep in the woods Front view of my jeep ![]() Front view of jeep with full enclosure installed I have had this jeep for over 25 years. It is a World War Two jeep…1942 Ford GPW. It’s the best vehicle I have ever owned. Sure it will never win any awards for factory restoration or even motor pool…but it’s already won the most important award I care about. That’s toting me about when I absolutely had to be there. It happened in Alaska at -45F when my every day “modern” truck wouldn’t start. The jeep fired right up. The jeep kept me warm (okay I was wearing AF bunny pants and a parka along with mukluks) and it got me to work. ![]() Three quarter side view of the jeep. People talk about Hummers and such but I say who cares. There’s nothing better than a jeep. A Ford GPW jeep is even better. ![]() Side view of my 1942 Ford GPW jeep. All the while, while I was shooting these pictures the jeep’s engine was purring. What a great vehicle to have. |

Hi Bob,
Just got the new book from
Amazon “Grampa’s War Pony” and gave it to my father, Louie Larson (aka Willys Mpls) for Christmas…he just loved it ( we all did) and he wants to order some more. He will be calling you for an autographed copy! Thank you for writing a legacy book about people like my father! I only wish I had wrote it myself! We will be pushing the book for you to all those with the shared passion! Happy New Year and great job!
